KENNETH F. HARDT
Ken joined our firm in 2001. His practice is concentrated
in the areas of insurance defense, construction law,
personal injury law, and general civil litigation. He
is admitted to practice in the Virginia Supreme Court;
the United States District Court for the Eastern District
of Virginia; the United States Court of Appeals for
the Fourth Circuit; and the United States Bankruptcy
Court for the Eastern District of Virginia. He is a
member of the Virginia State Bar; the Virginia Bar Association;
and the Virginia Trial Lawyers Association. Ken is also
an adjunct professor at Virginia Commonwealth University,
teaching a course in the Legal Environment of Business.
Outside of the office, his life revolves
around his wife, three kids and two dogs. When he gets
a free moment, he enjoys fishing, golfing, and woodworking.
He went into the practice of law because it suited what
he considers to be two of his best assets common sense
and the ability to analyze problems from all angles.
He enjoys working with clients, other members of the
bar, and the judiciary to find the right solution to
the problem at hand.
Ken received his Juris Doctor degree,
with honors, from the T.C. Williams School of Law of
the University of Richmond in 1984. He received his
Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Virginia
in 1980. Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Hardt was in
private practice in the greater Richmond area for over
15 years. Before beginning a private law practice, he
worked with the U.S. Attorney's Office in Richmond.
Before moving to Powhatan, Virginia, he was appointed
by the Chesterfield County Board of Supervisors to serve
on the Chesterfield County Committee on the Future.
He held the positions of Chairman and Vice-Chairman
on that committee.
