MARK C. NANAVATI
Mark joined our firm in 1996. He has been a partner
since 2002. His practice is focused on construction
defect litigation, insurance defense, insurance coverage
litigation and general litigation. Mark is admitted
to practice before the Supreme Court of Virginia, the
United States District Court for the Eastern District
of Virginia, the United States District for the Western
District of Virginia, the United States Court of Appeals
for the Fourth Circuit and the Supreme Court of the
United States of America. He is a member of the Virginia
State Bar, the Virginia Bar Association, the Virginia
State Bar's Construction Law and Public Contracts Section,
the Virginia Association of Defense Attorneys, Lewis
F. Powell, Jr. Inn, American Inns of Court and the Bar
Association of the City of Richmond.
Mark has defended cases of many types,
including construction defect, automobile, coverage
disputes, civil rights, legal malpractice, first party
property claims, premises liability and products liability.
Mark received his Juris Doctor
degree with honors from The George Washington University
National Law Center in Washington, D.C. in 1995, where
he was a member of the Moot Court Board. He earned his
Bachelor of Arts in American Government from the University
of Virginia in 1992 where he was a member of Pi Sigma
Alpha, the National Political Science Honor Society.
During law school, Mark was a Judicial Intern for the
Honorable Ann O'Regan Keary in the Superior Court of
the District of Columbia and served as a Legal Fellow
in the Federal and Appellate Legal Clinic of the National
Law Center. Mark was voted by his peers into the 2008 Virginia’s Legal Elite, as noted in Virginia Business Magazine (December 2008 edition).
